Barack Obama Loses the Nerd Vote

While pundits are calling last night’s debate for Obama, the Senator made a pretty major gaffe that’s being largely overlooked…

“The same way the computer was originally invented by a bunch of government scientists who were trying to figure out, for defense purposes, how to communicate…”

ZOMG@!!1 UR DOING IT WRONG!1 The computer was not invented by a bunch of government scientists, U FRIGGIN N00B!!!1

He probably meant to say the Internet, but he didn’t say the Internet, he said “computer.” Ergo, FAIL!

So, now that Obama has PWN’D himself, who will the geeks turn to instead? After saying he doesn’t use a computer and dropping comments like “It’s a Google,” it’s not very conceivable they’ll vote for McCain.

No, chances are Obama has mostly given a shot in the arm to the longshot write-in candidacies of Olivia Munn and Leroy Jenkins.

A Republican state senator is being criticized for a post on his blog that shows photos of Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden wearing similar clothing, along with a line that says the difference between them is “a little B.S.”

The image was posted on Sen. Kevin Bryant’s blog on Friday. It appears to be a photo of a T-shirt with images of bin Laden and Obama wearing turbans and the words “OBAMA” AND “OSAMA,” with the “B” and “S” highlighted in red.

“It’s just one of those pictures that I received by e-mail,” Bryant told The Associated Press on Monday. “I hope people will understand the sarcasm in it.”

He said he had been unaware of the uproar last week over a caricature of a turban-wearing Obama and his militant wife on the cover of The New Yorker.
